Buick Regal: Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Secondary Pipe Replacement (2.0L LTG)

Removal Procedure

WARNING: Brake Fluid Irritant Warning

CAUTION: Brake Fluid Effects on Paint and Electrical Components Caution

1. Place the ignition switch in the OFF position.

2. Remove the battery.

3. Without draining the coolant and without disconnecting the hoses, position aside the radiator surge tank.

4.

Hydraulic Brakes

Master Cylinder Secondary Brake Pipe Fitting (1) - Disconnect.

5. Plug the master cylinder outlet port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.

6.

Hydraulic Brakes

Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Secondary Pipe Fitting(1) - Disconnect.

7. Plug the brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV) inlet port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.

8. Remove the brake pressure modulator valve secondary pipe.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the brake pressure modulator valve secondary pipe.

CAUTION: Fastener Caution

Hydraulic Brakes

Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Secondary Pipe Fitting(1) - Install and tighten32N.m (24 lb ft).

3.

Hydraulic Brakes

Master Cylinder Secondary Brake Pipe Fitting (1) - Install and tighten32N.m (24 lb ft).

4. Radiator Surge Tank Replacement - Install.

5. Install the battery.

6. Bleed the brake system.

BRAKE PRESSURE MODULATOR VALVE SECONDARY PIPE REPLACEMENT (3.6L LGX)

Removal Procedure

WARNING: Brake Fluid Irritant Warning

CAUTION: Brake Fluid Effects on Paint and Electrical Components Caution

1. Place the ignition switch in the OFF position.

2. Remove the battery.

3. Without draining the coolant and without disconnecting the hoses, position aside the radiator surge tank.

Clip(1) - Release.

Clip(1) - Release.

Master Cylinder Secondary Brake Pipe Fitting (1) - Disconnect.

7. Plug the master cylinder outlet port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.

Hydraulic Brakes

Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Secondary Pipe Fitting(1) - Disconnect.

9. Plug the brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV) inlet port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.

10. Plug the master cylinder outlet port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.

Hydraulic Brakes

Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Secondary Pipe Fitting(1) - Disconnect.

12. Plug the brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV) inlet port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.

13. Remove the brake pressure modulator valve secondary pipe.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the brake pressure modulator valve secondary pipe.

2.

Hydraulic Brakes

Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Secondary Pipe Fitting(1) - Install and tighten32 N.m (24 lb ft).

Hydraulic Brakes

Master Cylinder Secondary Brake Pipe Fitting (1) - Install and tighten32 N.m (24 lb ft).

Hydraulic Brakes

Clip(1) - Secure.

5.

Hydraulic Brakes

Clip(1) - Secure.

6. Radiator Surge Tank - Install.

7. Install the battery.

8. Bleed the brake system.
