Ambient Air Temperature Calculation Reset (with Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Wired to ECM)

Diagnostic Instructions

Description

This procedure resets the control module learned values of the component/system: B9 Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Hardwired: K20 Engine Control Module.

When to Perform the Procedure

NOTE: Failure to perform this procedure may result in poor system performance, DTCs being set, or customer dissatisfaction.

Perform this procedure when the following component has been serviced: B9 Ambient Air Temperature Sensoror K20 Engine Control Module or Battery - Replaced.

Conditions for Running the Procedure

Engine = Off

Ignition = Run/Crank

AMBIENT AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR REPLACEMENT

Preliminary Procedure

Front Bumper Fascia Replacement.

  1. Ambient Air Temperature Sensor
    Procedure
    1. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
    2. Unlock the retaining tabs.
    3. Ambient Air Temperature Calculation Reset Ambient Air Temperature Calculation Reset (with Ambient Air Temperature Sensor wired to ECM).

HEAD UP DISPLAY SWITCH REPLACEMENT

Preliminary Procedure

Steering Column Upper Trim Cover Replacement.

  1. Head-Up Display Switch
    Procedure
    Unlock the retaining tabs.

HEAD-UP DISPLAY REPLACEMENT

Removal Procedure

1. Battery Negative Cable - Disconnect.

2. Instrument Panel Assembly - Remove.

3.

Displays and Gauges

Head-Up Display Bolt(1) - Remove[4x].

4. Electrical Connector(3)Disconnect[2x].

5. Head-Up Display(2) - Remove.

Installation Procedure

1.

Displays and Gauges

Install 3 new foam pads (1) to the head-up display (2) as shown in the graphic.

Head-Up Display(2) - Install.

3. Electrical Connector(3)Connect[2x].

4. Head-Up Display Bolt(1) - Install, but do NOT tighten[4x].

CAUTION: Fastener Caution.

Head-Up Display Bolt(1) - Tighten in sequence[4x] 2.5 N.m (22 lb in).

6. Instrument Panel Assembly - Install - Instrument Panel Assembly Replacement.

7. Battery Negative Cable - Connect.

8. Head-Up Display - Programming and Setup.

INSTRUMENT CLUSTER REPLACEMENT

Removal Procedure

1. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (3.6L LGX) Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (2.0L LTG) - Disconnect.

2. Steering Column Upper Trim Cover Replacement - Remove.

3. Instrument Panel Center Trim Plate Applique Replacement - Remove.

Displays and Gauges

Remove the instrument panel center air outlet bezel (1).

5. Unlock the retaining tabs.

Instrument Cluster Bolt(1) - Remove[2x].

7. Instrument Cluster(2) - Remove.

8. Unlock the retaining tabs.

9. Disconnect the electrical connector.(3)

Installation Procedure

1.

CAUTION: Fastener Caution.

Instrument Cluster(2) - Install.

2. Connect the electrical connector.(3).

3. Instrument Cluster Bolt(1) - Install and tighten[2x] 2.5 N.m (22 lb in).

Install the instrument panel center air outlet bezel (1).

5. Instrument Panel Center Trim Plate Applique Replacement - Install.

6. Steering Column Upper Trim Cover Replacement - Install.

7. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (3.6L LGX) Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (2.0L LTG) - Connect.

8. Control Module References - Programming and Setup.
