DIAGNOSTIC INFORMATION AND PROCEDURES
PROPELLER SHAFT DIAGNOSIS
Review the propeller shaft description and operation.
The individual propeller shafts and the propeller shaft bearing support
bearings are not serviced separately.
Inspect for loose or disconnected propeller shaft-to-drive unit interface.
Replace snap ring as necessary.
Inspect for loose or damaged propeller shaft bearing support bolts. Tighten
or replace as necessary.
The propeller shaft bearing supports should be inspected for the following:
- Tears
- Cracks
- Contamination
- Damaged support bushing
The propeller shaft must be replaced as a complete assembly if any of the
above conditions exist.

Removal Procedure
1. Prepare the control module for removal using the SPS programming support
tool.
NOTE: The rear differential clutch control module can now be removed
and replaced.
2. Raise and support the vehicle.
3. Differential Carrier Assembly - Drain.
4. Propeller Shaft - Remove.
