Conditions for Running the DTC
Ignition = On
Conditions for Setting the DTC
- Steering Wheel Torque Sensor = Short to Ground
- Steering Wheel Torque Sensor = Short to Voltage
- Steering Wheel Torque Sensor = Open/High Resistance
Actions Taken When the DTC Sets
- Power Steering Output Torque = Disabled
- P9 Driver Information Center Display = Service Power Steering
Conditions for Clearing the DTC
- A current DTC will clear on the next malfunction-free ignition cycle.
- A history DTC will clear after 40 consecutive malfunction-free ignition
cycles.

2. Verify DTC C0545 is not set.
Replace the component: Steering Gear
- Go to next step: If the DTC is not set
3. All OK.

reservoir cap.
Checking Brake Fluid
With the vehicle in P (Park) on a
level surface, the brake fluid level
should be between the minimum
and maximum marks on the brake
fluid reservoir.
