Circuit/System Description
The power steering control module continuously monitors the thermal cycle
counter of the steering gear. If
the module is replaced, the thermal cycle counter value needs to be transferred
from the existing module
over to the new module using the SPS Electric Power Steering Setup Procedure.

Conditions for Running the DTC
Ignition = On
Conditions for Setting the DTC
The thermal cycle counter value does not meet the system requirement.
Actions Taken When the DTC Sets
- Power Steering Output Torque=Disabled
- P9 Driver Information Center Display=Service Power Steering
Conditions for Clearing the DTC
- A current DTC will clear on the next malfunction-free ignition cycle.
- A history DTC will clear after 40 consecutive malfunction-free ignition
cycles.

Circuit/System Verification
1. Ignition - On / Vehicle - In Service Mode.
2. Verify DTC C0569 is not set.
- Perform all necessary programming and setup procedures for the control
module: K43 Power
Steering Control Module
- Verify the DTC does not set.
- If the DTC sets - Replace the component: K43 Power Steering Control
Module
- Go to next step: If the DTC is not set
- All OK.
- Go to next step: If the DTC is not set
3. All OK.

NOTE: Do not apply the brake pedal during the brake pedal position
sensor
calibration procedure. Any movement of the brake pedal during this
procedure will cause the calibration procedure to fail. If this occurs, the
